By registering for, accessing, or using the Hyrnote platform — including the website at hyrnote.com and any associated applications (collectively, the “Platform”) — you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”), our Privacy Policy, and any additional terms applicable to specific features.
If you are using the Platform on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms. References to “you” include both you personally and that entity.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Platform.
Hyrnote (Private) Limited (“Hyrnote”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is a company incorporated under the Companies Act No. 7 of 2007 of Sri Lanka. We operate an online employment marketplace that connects job seekers (“Seekers”) with employers (“Employers”) in Sri Lanka and the Middle East.
Hyrnote is a platform intermediary only. We do not act as an employment agency, staffing firm, or recruitment consultant, and we are not a party to any employment or service contract entered into between a Seeker and an Employer.
Age. You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Platform. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
Capacity. You must have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts under Sri Lankan law. If you are registering on behalf of a company, that company must be duly incorporated or registered.
Employers. Employer accounts are subject to verification before job listings may be published. We reserve the right to refuse verification at our discretion.
You must provide accurate, complete, and current information when registering. You agree to update this information promptly if it changes.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@hyrnote.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
Seekers may hold one account. Employers may hold one company account; additional team members may be added subject to the plan seat limits in Section 9. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits or suspensions is prohibited.
You represent that all information on your profile — including your name, contact details, work experience, education, and skills — is accurate and not misleading. Providing false qualifications or experience is a breach of these Terms and may expose you to liability under Sri Lankan law.
When you apply for a job through the Platform, you authorise Hyrnote to share your profile, CV, cover letter, and screening answers with the relevant Employer. You confirm you have the right to share any documents you upload.
You may create saved searches and receive email notifications when matching jobs are posted. You may disable alerts at any time through your account settings.
You must not:
You represent that all job listings are genuine, accurate, and not misleading. You must not post fictitious listings, listings intended to harvest CVs without genuine hiring intent, or listings that discriminate unlawfully against any protected characteristic under Sri Lankan law.
Where a salary range is specified, it must reflect a realistic range for the advertised role. We reserve the right to remove listings with implausible or misleading salary information.
You agree to handle Seeker applications and personal data in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act No. 9 of 2022. You may only use application data for the purpose of evaluating candidates for the specific role advertised.
All candidate communications must be conducted through the Platform's messaging system until after an offer has been made and accepted. You must not request personal contact information from Seekers through the messaging system.
Unverified Employer accounts may save job listings as drafts but may not publish them. Verification requires submission of valid business documentation. We reserve the right to withdraw verification at any time if we have reasonable grounds to believe the information provided was false.
AI-powered features (including CV review, CV tailoring, cover letter generation, AI fit scoring, interview preparation, and career path suggestions) are available exclusively on paid Seeker subscription plans. Free-tier users do not have access to AI features and their data is not submitted to AI systems.
AI features are powered by the Claude API provided by Anthropic, PBC (“Anthropic”). When you activate an AI feature, relevant portions of your profile data or CV text are sent to Anthropic's API to generate a response. No request is stored by Anthropic or used to train its models. See our Privacy Policy, Section 5A for full details of what data is shared.
AI outputs are generated probabilistically and may contain errors, omissions, or content that does not accurately reflect your profile or a specific job. You acknowledge that:
You are solely responsible for any AI-generated content you submit to an Employer. Submitting AI-generated content that is inaccurate, misleading, or misrepresents your qualifications remains a breach of Section 5 of these Terms.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hyrnote makes no warranty that AI outputs are accurate, complete, fit for purpose, or free from bias.
Use of AI features is entirely voluntary. If you do not wish your data to be processed by Anthropic's API, do not activate AI features. You may continue to use all free-tier features without any AI processing.
All content you post on the Platform must:
We reserve the right to remove any content that, in our sole judgement, violates these standards or is otherwise harmful to the Platform or its users, without notice or liability.
You must not:
A basic Seeker account is free. Where paid features are introduced for Seekers, the applicable pricing and terms will be published on the Platform before purchase.
Employer accounts are available on Starter (free), Growth, Scale, and Pioneer tiers. Features and limits for each tier are set out at hyrnote.com/pricing, which forms part of these Terms by reference.
Free Starter accounts may have up to 3 active job listings at any time. Paid plans increase or remove this limit as described on the pricing page.
Subscription fees are charged in advance for the billing period selected (monthly or annual). All fees are stated inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
We offer a 7-day refund on new subscriptions where the Platform has failed to perform its core functions. No refunds are issued for partial billing periods, unused features, or where these Terms have been breached. Refund requests must be submitted to billing@hyrnote.com within the 7-day window.
We will give at least 30 days' notice of any price increase for existing subscriptions. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
All intellectual property in the Platform — including software, design, text, graphics, the Hyrnote brand and logo — is owned by or licensed to Hyrnote. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights in our intellectual property other than the limited licence to use the Platform as described herein.
You retain ownership of content you post (CVs, company descriptions, job listings, messages). By posting content, you grant Hyrnote a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, store, display, reproduce, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating and improving the Platform.
If you provide suggestions or feedback about the Platform, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use that feedback without restriction or compensation.
The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by Sri Lankan law, Hyrnote disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
Nothing in this section limits any rights you may have under the Consumer Affairs Authority Act No. 9 of 2003 or other mandatory consumer protection legislation.
To the fullest extent permitted by Sri Lankan law, Hyrnote's total liability to you — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise — shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the total fees paid by you to Hyrnote in the 3 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or (b) LKR 10,000.
In no event shall Hyrnote be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages, including loss of profit, loss of data, loss of goodwill, or loss of employment opportunity, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits Hyrnote's liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Sri Lankan law.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Hyrnote and its officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your violation of any law or the rights of a third party, or content you post on the Platform.
By you. You may close your account at any time through your account settings or by emailing support@hyrnote.com. Closing your account does not entitle you to a refund for any prepaid subscription fees.
By us. We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, we are required to do so by law, we reasonably suspect fraudulent or illegal activity, or we decide to discontinue the Platform.
On termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Sections 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17, and 18 survive termination.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. The Electronic Transactions Act No. 19 of 2006 applies to the formation and validity of these Terms as an electronic contract.
If you have a dispute with us, please first contact us at support@hyrnote.com. We will try to resolve it informally within 15 business days.
If informal resolution fails, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration under the Arbitration Act No. 11 of 1995 of Sri Lanka. The seat of arbitration shall be Colombo. The language of arbitration shall be English.
Nothing in Section 16 prevents you from lodging a complaint with the Consumer Affairs Authority of Sri Lanka or any other statutory body with jurisdiction over consumer disputes.
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any applicable plan-specific terms, constitute the entire agreement between you and Hyrnote regarding the Platform.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, it shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force.
Waiver. Failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce it subsequently.
Assignment. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights to an affiliate or in connection with a merger or acquisition, with notice to you.
Notices. Notices to you will be sent to the email address on your account. Notices to us must be sent to legal@hyrnote.com.
Language. These Terms are drafted in English. In the event of any conflict between the English version and any translation, the English version shall prevail.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email and by posting a notice on the Platform at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
